1. Well, now you're done installing the application, let's move onto connecting part. You can launch mIRC by double clicking mIRC icon on your desktop. 2. You'll see the following dialog. Fill in YOUR information. You can fill in random Full Name and Email Address in here.  3. After you fill in the information, click on orange button. The dialog changes to the following. Choose "IRCHighway: Random server" from dropdown box. Yes, #aku-tenshi is located on the server called IRCHighWay.  4. Click "OK". The dialog will now look like this:  5. Click on the lightening on upper left, right underneath the File menu. There'll be bunch of thing happening on the background, then you'll see this dialog:  6. Uncheck the check box. Click "OK". It is not really related to downloading Manga. They're just random channel names that's probably available on some servers. They might not be available on IRCHighWay. (I've never tried them.) 7. When the stuff is stopped moving, it'll look like this:  8. Type the following command in where the cursor is: /nickserv register password email - Replace password with your own password. It'll be your login password for IRCHighway server. - Replace email with your own email address. You値l need to use a valid email address because the confirmation number will be sent to your email. [note] You need to do this process only for the first time. This is for you to register your nickname so that other people won't use your nickname from later on. If the message is said that the nickname is already registered, then type in following command: /nick NewNickName Don稚 forget to replace NewNickName with something that you want use for YOUR nickname. 9. Check your email. An email supposed to be sent to your inbox from services@irchighway.net. You might need to check your Bulk/Spam folder, because some email client will think this is a spam email. Don't worry; this will be the only email you'll receive from IRCHighWay. 10. Email will be look like this: ----- Hi, You have requested to register the following nickname NewNickName. Please type " /msg NickServ confirm Vp1moxNSQ " to complete registration. If you don't know why this mail is sent to you, please ignore it silently. PLEASE DON'T ANSWER TO THIS MAIL! irchighway.net administrators. ----- 11. Copy and paste the command to your mIRC. Mine will look like this: /msg NickServ confirm Vp1moxNSQ 12. After you type in the command, the mIRC will respond with that your nickname is registered. 13. Type in the following command to confirm your nickname: /identify password This will let you identify yourself with the nickname, so that people won't mistake you with other people. You'll need to do this whenever you launch the server second time and on. However, you don稚 need to go through the whole registration thing any more. 14. Type in the following command: /j #aku-tenshi - This will let you join the aku-tenshi channel. After you hit enter to execute the command, you'll see a new window pops up looking like this:  15. Congratulations!! You're now in #aku-tenshi!! You can type something like "Hello" to greet people. Sometimes nobody would ever answer it. But don't worry, they don't hate you, but it's just because they're all leechers that probably not available in front of their computers. 1. Instead of doing step #3, you can also connect to the server by typing following command: /server 卜 irc.irchighway.net -m stands for multiple, so it'll let you connect to multiple server later on. |
